Team to play Illogan

St Ives have selected their team to play

Illogan Park at home on Saturday 1st October, K.O. 3:00p.m.

Typical of the game of rugby these days, St Ives make seven changes from the squad that played so well and entertainingly at Helston last Saturday. Dan Lawther, playing at inside centre for the first time with considerable skill and rugby know how, is back at No.8. Tom Barber returns to a St Ives front row in place of Tom Haycock. The rest of the pack is the same. Dan Harry will be hoping to consolidate his place after a good performance following injury last week. Grant Thirlby becomes the fourth flyhalf of the season, with Prout and Turton injured and Adam Harris and Jamie Prisk taking up the centre roles. Brodie Lees keeps his place on the wing.

Illogan Park, currently lying 7th, had a tough start to the season with a heavy defeat at home against league pace setters, Saltash. After a further defeat at the hands of Redruth 2nds, our visitors were frustrated by a HWO dealt by Newquay Hornets. Last week was a much closer encounter with a 10:7 loss at Liskeard/Looe who are in 5th place. When the sides last met on 5th February earlier this year in the Cornwall Kernow League, St Ives won 27:12.

In other matches in this league, Saltash, Redruth IIs and Veor are all likely to win to keep the top of the table pretty close. We look forward to seeing many of you up at the ground tomorrow.
