Committee Tribute to Joff Rowe

It was with regret that the committee of St Ives RFC recently received a letter of resignation from Joff Rowe regarding his position as Director of Rugby. Respecting his wishes, we felt that we had no choice but to accept it.

Joff returned to his boyhood club as unpaid Director of Rugby after a disastrous season where the 1st XV had been relegated, and had been unable to fulfil fixtures.

Through his deep knowledge of the game and hard work, he put in place a coaching and recruitment structure which lead to 2 league promotions and the club winning the Cornwall Cup for the first time in many years.

As well as this, Joff developed relationships with sponsors and advertisers, which helped to increase revenues available for rugby.

Additionally, he implemented a club development officer role, to help promote the youth section at the club.

The committee has the utmost respect and affection for Joff, and would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his future endeavours. We would also hope to see him and his family at the club in the future.
